EDWARD ANTONENKO
May 4, 1930 - March 17, 2006
Edward Antonenko passed away suddenly in his home, on March 17th, 2006, with his wife, Julia, and daughter, Sandra, by his side.
He was born in Coleman, Alberta on May 4th, 1930. He graduated from Coleman High School in 1948. After graduation, he set out to find suitable employment. Eventually, he arrived at Rose Lake, B.C. where he worked his trap-line for several years. During this time, he met the love of his life, Julia Payne. They were married on May 31st, 1952.
Ed worked as a bush foreman for different lumber companies for a number of years. He enjoyed his time traipsing through the forest.
Ed was an avid fisherman, (with a secret fishing hole), proudly bringing home 20 - 26 lb. Spring Salmon regularly. For many years, he loved gardening and kept his family supplied with a variety of fresh vegetables. He experimented with different varieties, just to see if they would grow in this climate zone.
He suffered several health set-backs, which forced him to give-up the things he loved to do - fishing, hunting and gardening.
He was predeceased by his father, mother, and brother Jim.
Ed is survived by his loving family: his wife, Julia; his daughters Maureen (Dale) and Sandra; his grandchildren Michelle, Michael, Jocelyn (Jason), Jason, Tanya and Billy; his great-grandchildren Kaytlyn, Abbigale, and Aidan; his sister Doris (Richard) in Calgary; and his only aunt, Kay Irwin.
He will be sadly missed. Many thanks again to all the family and friends for all the cards, the flowers, and the food.
There will be no service, by request.
