Edwin Bett, age 64, passed away into the presence of the Lord on Feb 10, 2006, after a short battle with cancer. He leaves behind his wife, Heather, his three sons and daughter-in-laws and six grandchildren – Graham and Diana, Miranda and Natasha, Robert and Joellen and Pierson, Warren and Shirley, Beverley, Jenna and Riley. He is also survived by his father, Herbert, one brother Richard and wife Teresa and one sister, Dona and husband, Michael and several nieces and nephews. Ed was born in Chilliwack, B. C. on Nov. 10, 1941 and moved with his family to ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake in 1953 and
lived the rest of his life in ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake. Ed was married to Heather on July 9th, 1966 and three boys were born in subsequent years. He had a variety of jobs in his earlier years but the last 30 years were spent with the Ministry of Highways and the privitized employers – Lakes District Maintenance Ltd and Nechako Northcoast Construction - as an equipment operator.
A memorial service was held on Feb. 18th, 2006 at the First Mennonite Church
with Jim Dorst presiding. Donations can be made to ‘Tweedsmuir House’ and mailed to the Village Office, Box 570, ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake, B. C. VOJ1E0, in memory of Ed.
