Elizabeth was born in Edinburgh, Scotland to Raffaele and Thomasina Tedesco (nee Lees).
Elizabeth鈥檚 garden, her crafts, and travel were her creative joys. Elizabeth spent many cherished hours with her beloved grandchildren. Elizabeth leaves her husband Dale, and her children Ian, Sally, Glen (Karen), Scott (Elaine), and fifteen grandchildren. Elizabeth also leaves her much-loved sisters Rena and Marion and brother Raffaele, and many other relatives and friends.
All who knew her and loved her are saddened at her passing. Elizabeth fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. At Elizabeth鈥檚 request, there will be no service. She remains in our memories.
鈥淲hatever we were to each, that we are still鈥t is the same as it ever was. Nothing is past. Nothing is lost.鈥
The Rose Still Grows Beyond The Wall
Near a shady walk a rose was grew
Budded and blossomed in god鈥檚 free light,
Watered and fed by morning dew,
Shedding its sweetness day and night.
As it grew and blossomed fair and tall,
Slowly rising to loftier height,
It came to a crevice in the wall,
Through which there shone a beam of light.
Onward it crept with added strength,
With never a thought of fear or pride,
It followed the light through the crevice length,
And unfolded itself on the other side.
The light, the dew, the broadening view,
Were found the same as they were before:
And it lost itself in beauties new,
Breathing its fragrance more and more.
Shall claim of death cause us to grieve,
And make our courage faint or fall?
Nay, let us faith and hope receive 鈥
The rose still grows beyond the wall鈥
Scattering fragrance far and wide,
Just as it did in days of yore,
Just as it did on the other side,
Just as it will forever more.
