My baby sister Elsie Skin. I am going to miss your phone call everyday you call. I'm going to miss you, as soon as you hang up "I prayed to God not to take you. We already miss my husband Casimel & my son Ronnie. Please don't take her now". I'll do everything I can to take care of your son Bobby. All the good times we had when we were young. My dad taught us how to trap beaver, it was in the summit. Tell us how to take the dam and set trap in the dam so we did, next day we went to check the trap...the trap was gone, both me & Elsie pulled the rope, it was heavy we pulled it out and it was the biggest beaver ever. That's why it was so heavy. Our first time trapping & we catch a big one. I tied a rope around it, and put it on Elsie's back, and the beaver was so heavy Elsie staggered around a little bit. But we made it back to the cabin. My dad seen the beaver tail behind Elsie's back & he started to holler "Hey everybody my girls got beaver!" that's the funniest part we had, me & Elsie. She helped Mom & Dad pitch up hay for the winter. She work really hard. She fed the horses early in the morning at 6:00 am, she loves horses... One white horse named Trigger & Brown, one is baby Jean. She goes with mom to Ootsa Lake, set nets with mom. Everything mom teach her she learned it when she was young.
When my sister Elsie got admitted into the Prince George Hospital, she always talked about going home, always called & she got happy to see us when we went to visit her... whether it would be family or friends. She always loved her stuff animals, one I remember her having was an Elmo doll, one of her favourites. She keep asking for Bobby to come pick her up and take her home. She wanted to see Bobby's new truck. I wanted to listen to her words and now Bobby take you home. Love always, Mabel Jack
Mom, you left us so sudden. I was glad to see you the week before. You talked to me in your language. She was caring and very hard working. She always was right beside her mom & dad. She fed horses & cows at the farm. She packed wood, water, and when nieces and nephews catch big game in traps she packed it for them. She always smiled & joked with whomever she met. She bugged her nieces & nephews all the time & laughed... we will miss you... you are in a better place. I love you mom, keep an eye open on us from time to time. You're with grandma and grandpa now. Mom had urinary tract infection for 20 years. That caused her kidney to run at 25 percent. Two years ago we met with the doctors & nurses; we made arrangements for a 24 hour care at her apartment. She passed away on July 27, 2009 at 9:00 pm, peacefully in her sleep. Love your son, Bobby Skin.
Survived by son Bobby Skin, sisters Mabel Jack and Angeline Crocker, and brother George Skin.
