98 YEARS - WHAT A RIDE
From horse and buggies, crank telephones and kerosene lanterns, to space travel, call phones and GPS. Evangeline saw it all.
Vange was born in Pembroke, Ontario, Canada. The family moved west to Medicine Hat, Alberta, where her sisters Rita and Lanny were born and then to Topley, B.C. In 1934, in Seattle, Washington, she married James J. Mullen Jr. Aside from the birth of her three children, the proudest moment in her life was becoming a US citizen on May 8, 1944. She was chosen to represent Canada at the ceremony. She worked as a doctor's assistant in the Hollywood Rivera area for many years and made numerous lifelong friends along the way.
She will sorrowfully missed and forever remembered by her children; James J. Mullen (Ruth), Bartley M. Mullen (Cheryl), and Adele A. Cookus (Monty) and their extended families. She was passionately devoted to her 24 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and by all the friends whose lives she touched. Per her wishes, there will be no services. Please remember her only in happiness, because she wouldn't want us to be sad.
