January 22, 1937 - October 23, 2023

In loving memory ~

Gerald (Gerry) Eugene Edward Fuglem, age 86, passed away at his home in Francois Lake, B.C., on October 23, 2023.

He was born on January 22, 1937, in Loos, B.C. to Perelius and Ida Fuglem. He was the 10th child of 12. He attended school to grade 8 when his father told him "if the seats are too small for you, you may as well go to work!" So it was off to work he went working at the mill at Crescent Spur near Loos. He continued to work in the logging industry throughout his working career. Living in the country and the love of horses led to many trips up the mountains with family and friends. His longest trip horseback packing was from Loos, B.C., to Wembley, AB. Many good times and good stories around the campfires.

Gerry eventually found the love of his life Hilda Schellenberg and they married on July 2, 1966. Started their life together in Loos farming and logging. Then moved to Prince George, B.C., and started their family there. Together they had three daughters. He continued in the logging as a loader operator. The love of living in Loos called them back again. So Logging and farming on break-up for Abe Phillips is what he did. They also had their own farm with horses and cows. Then in 1978, they were off on new adventures moving to Francois Lake, B.C. Here is where Gerry continued in logging bunching for Joe Lobermayer. Then he made the big leap and bought his own buncher and continued to work for Pine Ridge Holdings until he retired. Retirement you would find Gerry and Hilda traveling mostly in their motorhome. Their love of family and adventures together was what they loved. When travelling came to an end, living on the lake was what they loved.

He was not a man of many words but when he did speak he made you smile! He will be truly missed by his family and friends.

Gerry is survived by his wife Hilda, daughters Cindy (Smokey) and Tracy (Troy). Granddaughters Tangena (Steve), Raylesha (Jordon), Chantelle (Timmy), Meghan (Tyson). Great granddaughter Audrey. Sister Edna, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gerry was preceded in death by his daughter Bonnie. Parents Perelius and Ida. Sisters Millie, Amy, Phyliss, Mary, Kay and Ila. Brothers Orvin, Bud, Lloyd and Merlie.

The family would like to thank all the people who took part in Gerry's care: Dr. Annandale, Nurses, Care Aides, Paramedics, RCMP and Grace Memorial Funeral Home.

To honour Gerry's wishes, there will be no funeral service.
