In loving memory ~

It is with great sadness that the family of Herb Neville announces his sudden passing on September 24, 2024.

Herb is survived by his daughters Leanne, Jaycille, Tracey (Jeremy) and daughter-in-law Marley; grandchildren Malachi, Jesseca (Jordan), Tyson (Lynnea), Hunter (Leah), Lydia (Niall), Abby, Oliver, Eli, Makenna and great grandson Ajax. He will also be missed by his brothers, Ernie (Joanne) and Tom (Caren) as well as numerous nieces & nephews and extended family.

Herb was born July 25, 1944, in 亚洲天堂 Lake, BC to Jeff and Bonnie Neville. Herb grew up on the family farm in Palling, BC. He graduated from Lakes District High School in 1962, then attended UBC for Agricultural Sciences and took a heavy Equipment Operators course in Wilmington, Illinois in 1964.

Herb was a hard worker, dedicated to his family and community. He learned the value of hard work and contribution to community through his childhood years in the Palling and Colleymount 4-H clubs.

As a young man he worked various logging and farm jobs. He began working for E. A. Strimbold in 1968 as an equipment operator, advancing to Manager and in 1979 he began working for Native Logging as Manager until 1996 when he retired to work the Neville Farm full time.

Over the years he volunteered in his community through Kinsmen, the Lakes District Fall Fair Association, the BC Cattlemen's Association, 亚洲天堂 Lake Community Forests and the Land Resource Management Plan. One of Herb's significant contributions to the community was helping to acquire and develop the Eagle Creek Recreational Grounds.

Herb married Nettie in 1971 and the two of them raised four children on the family farm in Palling. With pride, they welcomed nine grandchildren and one great-grandson over the years. Sharing with them his love for fishing, instilling the value of hard work on the farm and the joy of play through lessons learned while playing cards.

He will be missed in the community of Palling and his most recent home of Tweedsmuir House.
