Jacques Louis Brulotte passed away near Tatoga Lake at a mining company camp on September 11, 2006. He was born in 1936 at Ham Nord, Wolf County, Quebec. He was the oldest of 11 children in a French Catholic family.
The family moved to Chicoutimi in 1941 where he attended a private school until grade five then went on to Academi Commercialle.
At age 18 he enlisted with the Royal Canadien Navy. In 1956 he married Elane Marie Cooper, they made their home first in Halifax then in Dartmouth, NS.
In his travels with the navy he served or visited, Belfast, England, France, Suez and Puerto Rico, also served on loan with the US Navy in Boca Chica, Florida and Norfolk, Virginia.
He left the navy after seven years of service and resumed civilian life as an accountant.
Sadly his marriage ended and he came out west to start a new life in BC.
He was a member of the Houston Legion, and worked with the Houston Army Cadets and was a volunteer with the Houston and Granisle Ambulance services for a number of years.
For 15 years before his retirement he worked for Northwood (Canfor) as a first aid attendant and welder. He retired in Granisle with his longtime companion, Maria, but the sleepy little village was too quiet for him, he moved back to Houston in 2005 as he had a lot to do yet, golfing and being an active Legion member again.
He is survived by his ninety-one year old mother, three brothers, three sisters, a daughter, three sons and numerous grandchildren all across Canada.
He will be fondly remembered by his many friends and companion of twenty years Maria.
