June 1, 1920 - April 19, 2019
June V. Herrick, born June 1, 1920 to Nora and Olaf Johnson in Benton Country, Arkansas. June passed away on April 19, 2019. She had a very busy life, traveled a lot. April of 1980, June and her husband Lee Herrick immigrated to Canada and built a log house on Francois Lake where they lived for over 35 years. June was talented in many areas, sculpting, painting, leather work and more, but she was known for her bread baking, of which she shared a loaf with whoever showed up at her door. She loved music and wrote several unpublished songs. Her favorite was one she wrote especially for Lee called "Hello Angel". They had many musical sessions at their place throughout the years.
June had three siblings, Hope Applegate, Gwen Scott and Ed Sholander, all deceased. June was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Hendrick and a son Jackie and grandson, Denny LaFuer. June is survived by her three children, Sharron Allemand, Larry Custiss and Charlene (Jerry) Crider. She is also survived by her very devoted sister-in-law, Jeanette Sholdander and her nephew John Van Zanten. Also, many nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
June also raised seven foster daughters who called her "Mom", when she lived in Ellensburg, Washington where she and Lee had a mink farm. June was a devout member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She will deeply missed by family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Pines May 2nd at 10:30 am. where she has resided for the past seven years and was well cared for.
