September 2, 1951 - May 3, 2021
Born and raised in Saskatoon, SK, Kevin died of sudden cardiac arrest at his residence on Francois Lake, BC.
Predeceased by his parents, Lorraine LaBrash (Felix), Hilary Anthony LaBrash, sister Sharon Boyles (Keith), and brother Murray LaBrash.
He is survived by his sisters Lynn Richards (John Leong), Elaine Hernandez (Jesus), Maureen LaBrash (Ken Kuhling), along with numerous nieces, nephew, cousins, friends and neighbours.
With his customary cheer, sunny nature and generous spirit, Kevin held a variety of careers during his lifetime. From a teenage delivery boy for a bakery in Saskatoon, to serving in the Canadian Coast Guard, to forest logging in northern BC to owner of a small sawmill operation.
In recent years Kevin established what he lightheartedly called his "WOE" fund - supplying free firewood to needy widows, orphans and the elderly.
Kevin was a unique individual. Always humble, with a big heart and ever conscious of his environmental footprint, he had an undying love for the natural world - water, woods and landscape. Kevin was happiest when he was outside.
He loved picking mushrooms, pine cones and berries. Intelligent, good-natured and hard- working, Kevin was an avid CBC radio listener with an excellent memory. He was a good story-teller, happy to share the latest bear story or talk about neighbourhood get togethers. His sweet tooth was a grateful recipient of the baking generous neighbourhood cooks sent his way.
Always available to lend a hand, Kevin will be sadly missed in his community.
