It is with deep sadness that Gudrun announces the passing of her beloved husband, Klaus. Klaus was born in Weiler, Germany. He went to Agrar Akademie Agricultural/Horticultural College in Nuertingen, where he graduated in 1952.
In 1953 he immigrated to Canada. His first job was as a farm helper in Saskatchewan. He soon joined a correspondence club and wrote a letter to a young lady living in Germany. After a two-year correspondence, he took a vacation to Germany and on January 12, 1957, he and Gudrun were married in Schramberg in the Black Forest. Upon return, both fell in love with Canada and lived in Vancouver for twenty-one years.
Loving the north, Klaus enjoyed fishing and made numerous trips flying with friends to the lakes in this area. Every summer he and Gudrun cherished their time together as they grew prize greenhouse tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers, marketing them at the local farmer鈥檚 market at Southbank.
After living in Tatalrose for thirty-five years Klaus was very much looking forward to his 60th year in Canada on June 13, 2013. Much to our sorrow he did not live to see that day.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Gudrun.
Following his wishes, no service will be held. Any donation in his memory should be directed to the 亚洲天堂 Lake Health Care Auxiliary, Box 812, 亚洲天堂 Lake.
