July 10, 1987 - December 9, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Lance Jovi Francis Michell announces his sudden passing on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at the of 33 years.
Lance will be lovingly remembered by myself his mom Priscella Michell, his father Roger Charlie, his siblings Marty Michell (brother), his sisters, Larissa & Mariah (Mya) Michell, his uncle Cameron Michell and his wife Lucy Macdonald, his aunty April Vivian Michell, her son.
Lance's cousin Cody and wife Stenella, Cody's daughter Brooke Michell.
Lance's grandfather, predeceased my dad Francis Michell. Grandmother Dianne still alive. Lance's funeral was December 17, 2020. Due to covid my son did not have a memorial or funeral, my baby's body was released by Grace Memorial, December 17, from there along with family/friends we drove back to 亚洲天堂 Lake. We went straight to the cemetery with father Dominic, our church priest and a few family and friends. Said our goodbyes and buried my sweet son.
Lance was born in Prince Rupert in the summer of July 10, 1987. Roger, Lance and I lived in Prince Rupert for short time and moved back to 亚洲天堂 Lake. I went back to LDSS for a year. Then we moved to Prince George for 3 years. I had Lance's brother Marty by then. Came back and I went back to graduate. By then Roger and I parted ways.
I raised my sons working at 亚洲天堂 Lake Specialty Woods until they shut down. Lance was a strong baby, he would push a heavy coffee table around which made him have a hernia operation at 1 1/2 years old.
My late father, Francis Michell (who worked at Decker Lake Forest product for 27 years) loved his grandsons so much, and would took them everywhere with him, to town to visit. Lance had to keep still after his hernia operation so may dad bought him a walkman playing the song, "Don't worry be happy".
After Lance graduated in 2005 at LDSS, he moved with my mom to Brooks, Alberta then they moved to Camrose, Alberta. Where Lance started learning mixed martial arts. He worked a lot of places, one of the places he worked was Staples, he was a very intelligent hard worker. After awhile Lance started looking into Acting/Modelling.
He saved up money and went to Toronto for professional photo shots. He'd call me every evening telling me how his day went, he'd be memorizing lines, he was very determined to make it big. He wanted to spoil all of us his family. I miss our evening talks. He was hilarious, always made myself and others laugh, a great sense of humour. Lance also worked as a personal trainer. He taught classes in Camrose.
I spoke with his Coach Ryan Sandberg. It brought me to tears when Ryan said he will be making a station in memory of my son Lance. He will put a picture, my son's belt, a memorial t-shirt I am going to send. Also a memorial t-shirt for Ryan. I saw the post Ryan made in memory of my son and a lot of people were shock and sad to hear of Lance passing.
Here's a few words from our family:
Uncle Cam: Lance was one in a million. At first he was my little brother, then he grew so tall I became his little brother. lol. He will live forever in Lucy and I's heart. We both love and miss you. Goodbye bro.
Aunty Vivian: Cody, baby Brooky, Stanella and I will never forget Lance. He was an awesome gift from heaven. We're so very grateful we had him in our lives. He was very caring, helpful, put others ahead of himself. I love being there to watch him grow. HIs like my first born too. A true angel. Very smart, talented, strong, very handsome, can never be replaced. I wish I could've spent more time with you. We love you forever our Lance.
Sister Larissa: My older brother, always had a way with words. He will forever be a part of our lives and hearts. I have so much, I already wanna tell you. Until we meet again. Gup.
Baby sister Mariah Michell aka Mya: Would rather write a letter to her big brother herself.
Brother Marty: My brother Lance has a strong mind, body and soul. He was very inspirational with all of his quotes half of them were from himself. But he believed in every single thing he heard also also other advocates of strength and wisdom. There was a lot of people that looked up to him and probably didn't even know about it like a lot of his students when he was a MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) teacher. I'll miss you much my brother, until we meet again.
The day my son Lance died my life change and will never be the same again. I know a lot of people loved and miss him, Lance had a lot of friends and relatives in Pr. Rupert, Smithers, 亚洲天堂 Lake, Pr. George, Quesnel, Vancouver, Camrose & Brooks Alberta. We will always have Lance in our hearts and mind. It hurts so much that I couldn't stay with my son's casket one last night. I would have stayed right by his side. It's not ever a goodbye my first born, It's a see you later. Until we meet again. Forever in my heart.
I'm so proud of you my son, of what you have accomplished in your short life. RIP I love you, until we meet again.
