Lori was born, raised and lived her entire life in the Lakes District. Her early years were spent in logging and sawmill camps in the Francois, Ootsa and Decker Lake areas. When she was nine her family moved to the ranch on Bulkley Lake, where she lived until she married George in 1966. Together they lived in Palling and 亚洲天堂 Lake.
In September 1966, at the age of 19, Lori began her teaching career and devoted her next 45 years to teaching at Decker Lake Elementary School. She continued with her own education, spending many summers at UVIC and many hours with distance education and fellow educators at workshops. Her career developed with involvement with BCTF, BCPTA and various aspects and levels of education from local to Provincial Ministry.

Books were a passion. She read voraciously - religion, world concerns, nutrition, health and spirituality were some of her favorite topics. Lori was an avid gardener; the fruits of her labor were beautiful flowers to see and delicious fruits and vegetables to eat. Her interests were many and varied: travel, outdoor recreation, rock hounding for gems, sewing, quilting, home design and decorating, visiting family and friends.
Lori cared deeply for her family, friends, students and colleagues and was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, George, for 45 years.
Lori was pre-deceased by her father, Oscar, her mother, Mary, her brothers, Len and Ken and her beloved husband George.
She leaves to carry on: her sister, Marilyn, brother-in-law, John, sister-in-law, Maria, nieces and nephews: Ed (Leanne), Lisa (Darren), Lynn (Lee), Angie, Kristy, Mikel (Shannon), Nikki (Neil) and their children. Her step family: Val (Don), Gordon (Diana Mae), their children and grandchildren. Her colleagues, students, friends and neighbours.
