In loving memory ~

It is with great sadness that the family of Mamie Varga announces her passing on January 1, 2025, in Smithers, BC. Mamie is deeply missed by her daughter Aniko, her sisters Beth and Ellen, her brother Lorne, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her parents Bill Richmond and Mary Moren, her brother Carl, and her nephew Imre have previously passed.

Born in Prince Rupert, Mamie grew up in 亚洲天堂 Lake where she graduated high school. She studied and played the piano during her school years and then studied in the Music program at UBC. After her first year, she decided she needed a change so she enrolled in a secretarial course at BCIT where she received a special award for being the fastest typist they ever had. She later spent time in Prince George, Summerland, Penticton, and Kitimat before settling in Smithers in the 1980's.

Mamie worked as a secretary all her life in the private sector, the BC Courts, and the BC Government but if she was asked, undoubtedly her favourite employment was with Nechako Northcoast in Smithers. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the staff of Bulkley Lodge.

Mamie had a kind heart and was a loyal friend to many and will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to call her a friend. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her.

Rest in peace, Mamie.
