October 6, 1946 - January 12, 2019
Therese Page (neeThomas) passed ay peacefully, on Jan. 12th, at the Lakes District hospital after a short but valiant fight against an aggressive cancer. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ken, and her daughter Carol, son Brian and two grandchildren, and sisters Gloria and Faye.
Marie was born on Oct.6th, 1946 in Kirkland Lake, Ontario and met the love of her life, Kenny, in Gowganda. They moved to Whitehorse to work in mining industry and start their family.
Nineteen years later, the Page family moved to Colleymount where they ranched, logged and did a variety of other jobs.
Marie always focused on her family as her "job", being up at no-matter- what hour to have breakfasts cooked and lunches made. She enjoyed cooking and putting on a big spread for friends and family - her door was always open. In later years, she loved being on the ocean, catching halibut and Coho and had a love/hate relationship with the Canucks. Marie always spoke her mind (her French heritage coming out) and had opinions on a variety of subjects. Marie loved her home on the lake, watching the wildlife, and considered herself lucky for everything that she had in life.
Marie was pre-deceased by son Ron, sisters Laura and Wanda, mother Yvonne and step-father Morris.
We would like to thank the many nurses and doctors who cared for Marie. The nurses, in particular, in the Lakes District hospital, were very attentive, kind and gentle with Marie and compassionate with the family.
