Marilyn Rose Benson of Kamloops passed away on Monday, September 13, 2010, at the age of 73 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Harold "Hal" Benson; sons Rick (Sheila) Benson of Harrison Hot Springs, Randy (Sandra) Benson of Kamloops, Ron (Wendy) Benson of Chilliwack and Brian (Jennifer) Benson of Lacombe, Alberta; and daughter Brenda (Angelo) Carusi of Kamloops; 12 granchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and ten brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by her Dad, Raymond Victor Finch, and her Mom, Rose Anne (nee Waite) Finch.
Marilyn was born January 1, 1937 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and at a young age moved with her family to Vancouver, BC and later to Tintagel, BC, where she met and married the love of her life, Harold on June 23, 1954. For 30 years, they remained in Tintagel, where they raised their five children. In 1981, they moved south, where they spent their time between Chase and Kamloops.
As their children married and had children of their own, many happy times were spent at Mom and Dad's, enjoying good times and great food such as Mom's special pork pie, and her wonderful clam chowder. Family was her greatest treasure, and this was evident by all the photographs she had everywhere in her home, especially of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
