Born in Edmonton, March 23, 1932, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2016 at Victoria BC.

Marjorie was a daughter of Roy and Florence Minger, early pioneers of the Priestley area. The Mingers had a ranch at Priestley, where her son Keith now lives.

Marjorie and George grew up in the Lakes District and lived in ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake, Southbank, Ootsa Lake, Telkwa, Pendleton Bay, Terrace and Smithers before moving to Sidney.

Marjorie had a full life, rich with love, hard work, and a home that always had an open door. She loved the great outdoors, and was famous for the amazing meals she prepared over a campfire. She happily spent hours in her gardens, which were beautifully designed and full of blooms. She loved dressing up and going out on the town. Marjorie and George were great travellers, spending many years on the road and cruises.

Survived by loving family: Darryl (Charmaine) – Victoria; Keith (Paula) – ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake; Diana (Ron) – Nelson; Shirley (Sheldon) – Sidney; 8 grandchildren: Jody and Wade (Kim) Thomas, Andrea and Brennan Van Tine, Sheldon and Hattie Root, Josh (Stephanie) and Bart (Charity) Van Tine , 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her beloved husband George, her parents Roy and Florence and siblings George Minger and Connie Chapman

Funeral Services for Marjorie were held Sat Oct 29th, 2016 at St Paul’s United Church in ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake, BC. 2:00 – 3:00 PM followed by a reception. Interment at the cemetery at 4:30 PM.
