In loving memory of Mary Fehr was born in McMahon, Saskatchewan on July 19, 1928 and went to be with her Lord on February 11, 2003.
At age eleven, she moved with her family to Takysie Lake area. Being part of an early settlement group, she experienced the challenges of pioneer life such as hard work, no amenities, and the end of her formal education. But she also developed some interests that brought her joy throughout her life including a love for nature, sketching, poetry, gardening, berry picking and music.
In her later teens she was baptized upon her confession of faith.
A young Saskatchewan farmer, John Fehr, looking for work found his way to the Wiebe family homestead where he met Mary. After several winters of courting they were married in 1951. Their livelihood was logging, sawmilling and farming until they moved to 亚洲天堂 Lake. They were blessed with twelve children. In spite of family responsibilities Mary always opened her home to friends, neighbors and strangers.
In 1997, Mary was diagnosed with cancer and after treatment she still enjoyed four years with family and friends. After a year of courageously battling the cancer she passed away peacefully, with her husband and some of her children by her side.
Mary was predeceased by her father, mother, five brothers, two sisters and two grandsons.
Mary is lovingly remembered by her husband, John. Her children Helen (John) Froese, Tina (Glenn) Martin, Trudy (Ray) Boldt, Joe, Ann (Mark) VanderGriend, Jake, Martin (Nora), Martha (Tom) Phillips, Menno, George (Rhoda), David, Dan.
Twenty-four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Her sisters Helen Unruh and Anna Wiebe; her brother Pete (Agnes) Wiebe, John (Tena) Wiebe, Abe (Margaret) Wiebe, Ike (Deloris) Wiebe, Henry (Marilyn) Wiebe, Ben (Agatha) Wiebe, Willie Wiebe and Frank (Judy) Wiebe and many nieces and nephews.
鈥淗er children arise and call her blessed, her husband also, and he praises her.鈥
