October 3, 1940 - April 24, 2021
Born October 3, 1940 in Lacombe, Alberta died April 24, 2021, in Penticton, BC.
Muriel was born in Alberta and moved with her family to BC eventually settling in the Okanagan Valley where she met and married her next-door neighbor, Charles (Chuck) Sallenback. Together they shared many adventures and had 9 children over the course of a 40-year marriage.
Muriel worked in various jobs throughout the years but always loved being in the kitchen preparing meals and treats for her family and friends. She looked forward to the annual family reunions first with the Crown family and eventually with her own kids and grandkids at her home in Southbank, BC. She loved the Lord and would often pray for you when you called or stopped in. She enjoyed many hours reading and looking out at the lake from her home on Francois Lake.
Muriel spent the last six months living with her eldest son and his wife in Penticton, BC as she was no longer well enough to live on her own. She died peacefully after a long illness at home as she had desired.
Muriel is survived by her children Rick (Dori), Mike, Karen (Ron), Dave (Deb), Darwin, Marnie (Doug) and Jeannie (Tony). Siblings Lavern Hislop, Doreen Morris, Chuck Crown, Betty Flinn, Carol Rath, Marilynn Lanz, Dave Crown and Margaret Johnston. Grandchildren Troy, Chad, Angela, Allison, Amanda, Jessica, Kevin, Matthew, Elizabeth, Hannah, Ashley, Calvin and Michael. And many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and extended family and friends.
Muriel is predeceased by her parents Byron and Leora Crown, her husband Chuck Sallenback, son Charles Sallenback and daughter Muriel Sallenback (twins), brother Bob Crown and Sister Kate Dyck and brother Douglas Crown.
Muriel's desire was to have her remains buried with her husband in Grassy Plains.
