In Loving Memory ~
Nancy passed away peacefully on April 18, 2024 surrounded by family. She was greatly loved and cherished by anyone who knew her.
Nancy was born in Elrose Saskatchewan to Lorne and Muriel Wilson. She grew up in Wiseton Saskatchewan alongside her brothers Dave, Ray and Myles, and sisters Lauretta and Fran. She spent her childhood there on a small farm where she enjoyed the simple and down-to-earth living that the prairie life provided.
During her teenage years, the Wilson family moved to Burnaby where Nancy graduated from high school. Fate brought Nancy to the Lakes District after her parents Lorne and Muriel moved and sent word of the opportunity and potential of a small town in the northern interior. Nancy moved to 亚洲天堂 Lake and soon found work at the Royal Bank.
Nancy fell in love with local Ken Wilejto and would later start a family, bringing into the world two sons, Dave and Steve. She settled in at the Ministry of Forest where she worked as a receptionist and in mapping for many years. Nancy and Ken made a home at Tchesinkut Lake, where they raised their family.
Ken and Nan enjoyed life at the lake through their retirement. In 2022, Nancy reluctantly made the move to the Pines where, in her typical fashion she made the most of the situation and brought a smile to every day.
Nancy had a passion for gardening, flowers, and being outdoors. Having a green thumb, she was always grounded by having her hands in the earth. Nancy was fond of reading, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and would put in countless hours crafting handmade projects. She enjoyed movies, especially those that involved Julia Roberts, a love story, and of course a happy ending.
Nancy also loved baking, playing cards, and board games, and spending time with family and friends. She had a passion for family history both from her own side of the family, the Jones' and Wilson's, as well as her husband Ken's side of Wilejto's and Flogums.
In 1998 Nan had a serious bout with cancer that would force her to retire early and lead to health ramifications later in life. She fought and won that lengthy battle that could have easily taken her life. Nancy would later deal with many other serious health issues yet despite her obstacles, her resilience and positivity enabled her to overcome all odds.
Nicknamed as a "sunflower" by her daughter-in-law for her blossoming demeanour, her radiant disposition and inner light never wavered. She was always in bloom, always happy, always cheerful, always selfless, and could take a positive of any grim situation. She was beautiful inside and out and she never spoke ill of anyone. Nancy always put others before herself and her kindheartedness was revered by anyone who knew her. She was strong in faith and loved God.
Nancy is predeceased by her husband Ken, her parents Lorne and Muriel, brothers Dave and Ray, and sister Fran.
She is survived by her sons Dave (Brenna) and Steve (Rese), and her grandchildren Natalie, Blake, Haven, and Rio. Nancy is also survived by her sister Lauretta(Ray), brother Myles, and her sister-in-laws Judi, Stevie, and Mary.
A beloved mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunty, and friend. Nancy leaves a massive void in the lives of her family and friends. This earth is a lesser place without you Mom. Our hearts are heavy but there is solace in knowing that your beautiful soul has ascended and shines on in heaven. May you again be hand in hand with Dad.
Rest easy Mom. Love you
