Richard was born in Mission City, B.C. on February 12, 1962 to Anne and John Cannon. The Cannon family moved to 亚洲天堂 Lake in 1974. Richard worked for Eurocan at Andrew Bay on Ootsa Lake. The family moved to Fraser Lake in 1982 and Richard worked at the Fraser Lake Sawmill from February 6, 1987 until his decease.
Richard was a community-oriented person who dedicated all his spare time to volunteering with organizations in 亚洲天堂 Lake and Fraser Lake, in particular, the Lakes District Fall Fair Association and Fraser Lake and District Historical Society. Richard was a hard-working, honest and reliable person who enjoyed working with people and contributing to the local communities and his church.
Richard was pre-deceased by his parents John and Anne, brother Ronald, and nephew Kevin. He is survived by brothers Larry (Daphne), Dennis (Kendall), and Jim (Rose) as well as nieces and nephews Jeffrey (Susan), Rob (Brenda), Dylann (Brynn), Kyle, Dennis, Nicole, Courtney and Zane.
A person once said to Richard that he needed to get a life and his response was "I say that this is my life, and they will just have to accept that. I just count my blessings day by day". As per Richard's request, a memorial service will be held "When the world returns to normal again". A newspaper announcement of the date will be published.
