Jun 16, 1933 - Jan 12, 2018
The Reedy, Hill, and Frost families are very saddened by the passing of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Shirley (Frost) was born in a small country house near Fairbury, Nebraska to farming parents Harry O. Frost and Emily M. Schoen. In 1934 the family moved to Idaho to escape the depression on the prairies.
Shirley married her loving husband, Blynn E. Reedy, in 1952 and they rented farms and established a dairy near Eagle, Idaho. The couple worked hard with a dream of owning land and growing a herd of beef cattle. Shirley and Blynn immigrated to Canada in 1963 after purchasing a ranch at Grassy Plains, BC (located south of 亚洲天堂 Lake).
Shirley was a hardworking ranch wife and great mother. Her hobbies included square dancing, card playing, reading and socializing with friends. Shirley was active in the Grassy Plains Hall Recreation Committee and the Southside Women's Institute. She made and had many close friends throughout her life.
Husband Blynn passed away in 1989. In retirement, Shirley took trips to the US, Thailand, New Zealand and Nova Scotia. In her later years, she moved from the ranch to 亚洲天堂 Lake where she greatly enjoyed playing cards with her friends.
Shirley is predeceased by her two older brothers, Francis and Owen. Shirley is survived by her children Harold (Barbara), Vickie (Ken), and Walter (Erin); grandchildren Greg (Jen), Krista (Ritchie), Darren (Alyssa), Tanya (Tyler) and step-grandchild Emmett; great grandchildren Keaton, Jesse, Milla, Tristen; and great step-grandchildren Teisha and Tyson. Shirley is also survived by her sister-in-law Darlene Frost and several nieces, nephews, and cousins living in the US.
The family would like to thank Dr. Annandale, Dr. Graetz, Dr. Caira and the 亚洲天堂 Lake hospital nursing staff for their support and care. As well, a big thank you to the home-care support workers and nurse Grant over the past two years. We thank the ambulance staff for their care of our mother in times of emergency.
Also, a big thank you to friends and neighbours who were always extremely helpful to our mother including Steven, Jim and Shirley, Colleen, Gail, Leona, and Christine. The family apologizes for not acknowledging everyone who was helpful to our mother.
A memorial will be held at a later date with public notice given.
