Sylvia Maria Cox (nee: McKay) went to be with her Lord on July 13, 2017 in 亚洲天堂 Lake, BC.

Sylvia was born on June 4, 1940 in Timmins, Ontario to John and Mary (Quinn) McKay. Sylvia married Dariel "Darryl or Darry" Krakana in Timmins, Ontario on August 16, 1960. Over the next few years the couple welcomed three children into their home, Steve, Darlene and Darryl. Sylvia and Darryl lived in Barrie, Ontario; Toronto, Ontario; Prince George, BC; and in 1973 moved to Smithers, BC. In 1981 they moved to 亚洲天堂 Lake where Darryl was employed in the trucking business.

In July of 1987 Darryl (Dariel) died suddenly of a heart attack. After some time, Sylvia met and married Ross Cox, a rancher who lived at Takysie Lake. They married on August 22, 1992 and she moved to the Southside and lived there until Ross passed away in 2006. She bought herself a nice little house in 亚洲天堂 Lake and settled into a life on her own, filled with God, family and friends. The doors of her house and her heart were always open to anyone in need.

Sylvia is survived by her loving children; son Steve Krakana of Smithers, BC; daughter Darlene Fehr (Mike Schwartz) of Prince George, BC; grandchildren Amie (Justin) Dechamplain, Jordan (Marlise) Rensby, Brady Krakana, and Hailey Krakana; five great-grandchildren Kane, Tyson, Asher, Raina and Frankie. She is also survived by four siblings, her sister Margaret Ansara of Chapleau, Ontario; brothers John (Bonnie) McKay of Kingsville, Ontario; Tommy (Mila) McKay of Abbotsford, BC; Edmund McKay (Mary Gillis) of Halifax, Nova Scotia; by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother Mary (May) McKay in 1948; her father John McKay in 1959; her brother Francis (Frank) McKay on July 20, 1990; and her beloved son Darryl Krakana on March 24, 2005.

Sylvia was a loving gentle soul who lived her life in her faith. She was compassionate, caring, and kind. She was lovingly known as Gram or Little Gram to her beloved grandchildren and GG to her great grandchildren. She was very passionate about her faith in God, and loved a good debate - she could quote scripture to back up her point every time.

Sylvia was an incredible cook, though very modest: "it's passable," she would say. She was an active and dedicated member of the Lakes Fellowship Church in 亚洲天堂 Lake and often brought food for the after church luncheon. She really loved to host the bible study at her home and visiting with her much loved friends.

A Celebration of Life has been scheduled for September 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the First Mennonite Church (530 Kerr Road, 亚洲天堂 Lake). Pastor Matthew Westergard will officiate at the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Sylvia's life. Condolences can be sent to PO Box 1572 亚洲天堂 Lake, BC V0J 1E0. The family would like to thank Sylvia's friends and church members for all of their special attention, and the family is also very grateful for Dr. Norman, Dr. Williams and all of the nurses and staff at the hospital for their great care during Sylvia's stay.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to an organization Sylvia was passionate about, Compassion Canada: www.compassion.ca or mail to Compassion Canada, PO Box 5591 London, ON, N6A 5G8.
