Dad was born at the family farm near Oliver, B.C. At the age of nine, my grandparents, John and Tina, packed up the family and moved to a farm down Tatalrose Rd. Dad grew up on the southside along with his four sisters. My grandparents adopted his brother in later years. Dad dated Mom for three years and then they got married, had four children, Melvin, Marlene, Mark & Dwayne, bought the house in Southbank where Mom still lives. They would have celebrated their 49 wedding anniversary this June. Dad worked several sawmill and bush jobs before he got a job on the ferry, where he worked for over 32 years before retiring. I am sure that Dad will always be remembered for his unique sense of humour. Dad loved his family and he had a special twinkle in his eye when he was around his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Caroline & Lorraine, and son Mark. A funeral service was held at Grassy Plains on March 5, 2011. He is greatly missed by his family and many friends.
