Council needs to be more supportive

I have read that over the last year there have been many concerns raised verbally and in print regarding the behaviour and attitude of the Village of ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake council members. Concerns include: staff resignations, the findings of the community recreation organizational review, and the CAO not being allowed to perform a regular duty.

I am a new resident to ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake and have enjoyed the content of each issuance of Lakes District ÑÇÖÞÌìÌÃ.

How politicians think they can control the media is naive, and at best, the absolute worse message to the community. I understand that council has since withdraw advertising with Lakes District ÑÇÖÞÌìÌÃ. Your very own internal newsletter will be subject to the same support and/or criticism.

The Lakes District ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà serves the community by addressing questionable decisions and sensitive issues lacking transparency. Leadership has to learn that blaming Lakes District ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà is not the answer.

I look forward to attending my first council meeting on Dec. 13, 2017.

Sincerely,

Gerald Slater
