A Sidney golfer defied all odds and managed to score not just one hole-in-one, but two back-to-back holes-in-one at a Saanich golf course.

While playing at Ridge Golf Course with his eight-year-old son, longtime golfer Jordan Rintoul scored two aces in a row on Saturday, March 30.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a pretty surreal feeling like, you know, I鈥檝e had two other old ones in my golfing career and both of them came in competitive golf situations,鈥 said Rintoul. 鈥淭here was an elderly couple playing behind us and the woman, she saw both of them and I think she was more excited than I was. It was pretty crazy.鈥

After paring the first four holes of the nine-hole course, he managed to ace the 70-yard fifth hole, and when he stepped up to the sixth hole, which is 89 yards, he repeated the feat. Both holes are par three.

According to the National Hole-In-One Registry, making consecutive holes-in-one is a one in 67 million occurrence.

鈥淚t was pretty neat to experience it with with my kid right. A funny thing he said was because a woman behind me said 鈥業鈥檓 gonna give you my email address because I don鈥檛 think many people are gonna believe this actually happened. I鈥檒l attest to it and this and that.鈥 And then I said, 鈥楴o, no, it鈥檚 fine. I鈥檝e got my son here with me鈥 and my son piped up and he said, 鈥榥o, I鈥檓 gonna tell everybody that it just didn鈥檛 happen鈥 and that was kind of icing on the cake,鈥 he said

Rintoul, who has been playing since his grandparents bought him a set of clubs when he was four, scored four under par for the nine holes.
