He grew up in Surrey as a Canucks fan, and tonight Arshdeep Bains will wear the team鈥檚 jersey for real in a NHL game.
The rookie forward will make his Canucks debut Tuesday (Feb. 20) in Colorado during a 6 p.m. game against the host Avalanche, the team announced.
Late last week Bains was called up by the Canucks from their AHL affililate, Abbotsford Canucks, where he鈥檚 starred in recent months and .
鈥淚f I get the opportunity, just go out there and play my game and try to help the team win,鈥 Bains said in video posted to the Canucks鈥 twitter.com account.
He鈥檒l wear jersey #80, and becomes just the fourth Punjabi-heritage player in the league. He still lives in Surrey at his family home.

Bains, 23, was undrafted in both the WHL and NHL, and , in March 2022.
He played his junior hockey with Red Deer Rebels and captured the WHL鈥檚 Bobby Clarke Trophy as top scorer in 2021-22 with 112 points in 68 games.
