Canadian international winger Liam Millar will miss the rest of the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The injury was suffered in Hull City鈥檚 1-1 draw Wednesday with visiting Burnley in England鈥檚 second-tier Championship.
鈥淯nfortunately that鈥檚 my season over,鈥 Millar said in a social media post. 鈥淣ever would have wished something like this would have happened but unfortunately sometimes that鈥檚 football. I will continue to stay as positive as I can and take the time to improve my self as much as possible, and also to make sure I come back stronger than before.鈥
Hull coach Tim Walter addressed Millar鈥檚 injury after Saturday鈥檚 1-1 draw at Derby County.
鈥淗e has an ACL (injury). He鈥檚 out for the whole season,鈥 Walter said. 鈥淔or him, it鈥檚 so frustrating 鈥 I鈥檓 so with him. I was so shocked and him as well. 鈥淚t鈥檚 not about the club. It鈥檚 not about us, it鈥檚 about him. I鈥檓 really so sad, feeling with him.
鈥淚t鈥檚 not easy this moment but we will give him all the help we can give him. We support him with all our energy.鈥
Millar had made 12 appearances for Hull since signing in the summer. He spent last season on loan to England鈥檚 Preston North End from Switzerland鈥檚 FC Basel.
The 25-year-old from Brampton, Ont., has won 35 caps for Canada with one goal and three assists.
