The Lakes District Secondary School (LDSS) boys soccer team were first place in their zone tournament in Prince George and earned a berth in the 2012 Single ‘A’ Provincial Championships for the first time in school history.

The team of 20 students were proud to represent the North Central Schools and with high expectations, headed to Victoria to tackle the province’s other best teams. Competition was strong, with some great soccer games and the team finished 14 overall.

Game MVP’s included:  Andre Dube, Matt Skinner, Nick Brochez, Curtis Brown and Logan Gray.  The tournament MVP for the Lakers team went to Andre Dube, and Logan Gray was tied for the Golden Boot trophy for most goals scored overall.

The team only has one senior and is excited for next year as most of the team will return and the experience was fantastic.

The team was coached by Pat Brochez and sponsored by LDSS teachers Patti Dube and Tracy Brown.
