A four-door sedan performed a high-wire act just before 6 p.m. in Vernon on Friday evening, March 15.
The car entered a boulevard on 48th Avenue and 23rd Street by the ICBC Claims Centre and became lodged on a power pole wire, resting at a 45-degree angle.
鈥淐razy huh?鈥 a witness told The Morning Star.
Vernon North Okanagan RCMP say the driver was westbound on 48th Avenue and turned in front of an eastbound vehicle.
鈥淯nfortunately, the westbound driver misjudged the distance of the oncoming vehicle resulting in the driver accelerating in the turn to prevent a collision,鈥 said Cpl. Tania Finn, media relations officer. 鈥淎s a result, the vehicle collided with the curb and drove onto the support wires of the hydro pole.鈥
BC Hydro worked with the tow company to safely remove the vehicle.
No injuries were reported and the westbound driver was charged under the Motor Vehicle Act for failing to yield on left turn.
