A recent study by QR Code Generator has revealed that Reynolds' Aviation Gin has secured a top-five spot in the most popular celebrity alcohol brands, showcasing the "Deadpool" star's business acumen alongside his acting chops.
The comprehensive study, which analyzed over 150 celebrity alcohol brands using Google search data and Instagram follower counts, ranked Aviation Gin fifth overall with an impressive index score of 84.8 out of 100. The brand boasts 345,000 Instagram followers and generates an average of 26,808 monthly searches nationwide in the United States.
Reynolds, who acquired a stake in Aviation Gin in 2018, has brought his trademark wit and charm to the brand's marketing efforts.
"I've tried every gin on the planet and Aviation is, hands down, the best," Reynolds once quipped. "Also, I don't recommend trying every gin on the planet. Stick with Aviation."
While Reynolds' gin performed admirably, it was outpaced by some surprising contenders. Kendall Jenner's 818 Tequila claimed the top spot with a score of 95.4, followed by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Teremana Tequila at 94.8. The vampiric duo of Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder's Brother's Bond Bourbon and George Clooney's Casamigos Tequila rounded out the top four.
The study highlights the explosive growth of celebrity alcohol brands, which have increased by almost 800 per cent from 2018 to 2022. This trend has proven lucrative, with customers willing to pay an average of 73 per cent more for celebrity-endorsed spirits.
"While a member of the Kardashian family ranking number one is unsurprising due to their huge celebrity status and name recognition, many A-List stars' brands are further down the list than would possibly be expected due to their huge fame," said Marc Porcar, CEO of QR Code Generator.
Reynolds' success with Aviation Gin demonstrates that star power alone doesn't guarantee success in the competitive spirits market. The brand's performance suggests that Reynolds has successfully leveraged his celebrity status while also focusing on product quality and targeted marketing.
