Better late then never. Lakes District ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà received photos of RCMP Constables McDonald, Scott and Nitz, who were seen handing out candy on Halloween night in ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake. Members of the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake RCMP, ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake Fire and Rescue Department and ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake Paramedics conglomerated at the CNC parking lot on Nov. 11, where a Remembrance Day ceremony was held, and attended by dozens of local residents. The ceremony included the singing of the national anthem, a reading of the poem Flanders Fields by John McCrae, as well as a two-minutes moment of silence beginning at 11 a.m. The event was organized by Royal Canadian Legion Branch 50 President Jim McBride.

Brent and Lena Mackereth from ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake left a trailer at the corner of 8th Avenue and Centre Street, for anyone looking to discard of their post-Halloween pumpkins. Lena told Lakes District ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà that as of Nov. 5, the trailer was already emptied once and was half filled again. She estimates that the equivalent of two big tote bags from wholesale have been collected.
