Kevin Hart isn鈥檛 hosting the Oscars next month.
The actor made that clear with a simple 鈥渘o鈥 during an interview with Michael Strahan on 鈥淕ood Morning America鈥 on Wednesday 鈥攍ess than a week after he seemed to suggest he was reconsidering his decision to step down.
鈥淚鈥檓 not hosting the Oscars this year,鈥 Hart told Strahan.

Hart dropped out of the annual award show in December after homophobic tweets he had shared years in the past re-emerged. Hart鈥檚 announcement that he was stepping down 鈥攊n which he apologized and said he didn鈥檛 want to be a distraction at the ceremony 鈥攃ame days after he was named the host of the Academy Awards, which take place on Feb. 24.
He said Wednesday that he does not have an issue with the Academy.
鈥淭he offer was made, it was received, I was excited, things happened, it didn鈥檛 work out the way that it should鈥檝e,鈥 Hart said. 鈥淩ight now, from a time perspective, I don鈥檛 have the time. You鈥檙e talking about two weeks I鈥檇 have to prepare.鈥
Last Friday, Hart shared his frustration with the situation during an appearance on 鈥淭he Ellen DeGeneres Show.鈥
鈥淚鈥檓 a little upset because I know who I am. I know I don鈥檛 have a homophobic bone in my body,鈥 the comedian told host Ellen DeGeneres. 鈥淚 know that I鈥檝e addressed it. I know that I鈥檝e apologized. I know that within my apologies I鈥檝e taken 10 years to put my apology to work.鈥

DeGeneres urged him to reconsider his decision to step down and said the Academy told her they鈥檇 like to see Hart return as host.
Hart said toward the end of the episode that he planned on 鈥渆valuating鈥 his conversation with DeGeneres.
The 39-year-old Hart repeatedly reiterated to Strahan on Wednesday that he is 鈥渙ver鈥 talking about his old tweets and said there would be 鈥渘o more conversation about it.鈥
鈥淚鈥檓 over that. I鈥檓 over the moment, and I鈥檓 about today,鈥 Hart said. 鈥淪o if it鈥檚 accepted, great, and if it鈥檚 not, it鈥檚 nothing I can control.鈥
