Update: Conservative candidate Ellis Ross will now be attending the all candidates forums. Original story below.

Voters in the Skeena–Bulkley Valley riding will have an opportunity to hear directly from federal election candidates at upcoming all-candidates forums in Houston and ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake.

The Houston District Chamber of Commerce will host its forum on Tuesday, April 16 at 7:00 p.m. at the Houston Community Hall. The following evening, the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake and District Chamber of Commerce will hold its event on Wednesday, April 17 at 6:00 p.m. at the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake Heritage Church.

Five candidates are running in the Skeena–Bulkley Valley riding: Taylor Bachrach of the New Democratic Party (incumbent), Ellis Ross of the Conservative Party of Canada, Inderpal Dhillon of the Liberal Party of Canada, Rod Taylor of the Christian Heritage Party, and Adeana Young of the Green Party of Canada.

As of press time, the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake and District Chamber of Commerce confirmed that Taylor Bachrach and Rod Taylor are the only candidates who have confirmed their attendance at the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake forum. Bachrach and Taylor are also the only two candidates who have confirmed attendance at the Houston meeting, the Houston and District Chamber of Commerce said. Ross will not be attending the meeting in Houston, the Chamber said.

Both forums are open to the public and offer residents a chance to learn more about the candidates’ platforms and ask questions about the issues that matter most in the region.
