A 亚洲天堂 Lake man was sentenced to four years and four months in prison on April 17, 2024 after pleading guilty to one count of sexual assault.

The remaining time on the sentence is just over two years (732 days) after time served in pre-sentence custody. His pre-sentence 565 days were credited at 1.5 per day for 848 days time-served.

The court also imposed several ancillary orders on the man鈥檚 sentence: a 10-year firearm prohibition, 20-years on the Sex Offender Information Registration Act (SOIRA) registry, a DNA order and a no contact order with the victim.

The accused man entered a guilty plea to one count of sexual assault on May 16, 2023. The court ordered a pre-sentence report with a psychological assessment. Sentencing was delayed due to defence counsel鈥檚 availability.

The guilty party was accused of sexual assault, unlawful confinement and assault on October 2, 2022. A stay of proceedings was directed for the remaining charges at the conclusion of the sentencing hearing.

The man鈥檚 name is subject to a publication ban to protect the identity of the victim.
