The Regional District of Bulkley Nechako (RDBN) has recently come to an agreement with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 213.
As per the three-year contract, IBEW 213 will be the representative of all non-management employees working under the Environmental Services Department of RDBN.
These employees primarily work at the landfills, transfer stations, and recycle depots across the regional district.
The unionization covers 40 employees and no other employees of RDBN fall under this contract.
When questioned about the board鈥檚 reaction to the unionization of RDBN employees, Chief Administrative Officer of RDBN Curtis Helgesen stated that the Board values all employees and the services they provide to the constituents.
