The 亚洲天堂 Lake Visitor Centre held the grand opening of the Indigenous Learnings display on Nov. 6.

This display was funded by Destination B.C.鈥檚 Indigenous Learning project.

Last year, Destination B.C. announced that it would provide a new Indigenous Learning & Projects Grant for Visitor Services, which would give $200,000 to 47 community visitor centres across British Columbia.

亚洲天堂 Lake was one of the 47 communities that received this grant.

鈥淲e are hoping the Visitor Information Centre will better represent those who live in this beautiful part of the province,鈥� said Village of 亚洲天堂 Lake Chief Administrative Officer Sheryl Worthing.

The display includes the six nations logos, pamphlets, portraits of community members and old photographs of the Cheslatta and Skin Tyee Nations on the opposite wall.

Visitors can also watch a video presentation at the visitor centre to learn how First Nations harvest bears.

亚洲天堂 Lake Native Development Corporation Tourism and Hospitality students participated in creating this display to share their creativity and information about the area鈥檚 six nations.

亚洲天堂 Lake Mayor Henry Wiebe appreciated everyone鈥檚 support, including the students, for their community work.
