The Village of 亚洲天堂 Lake is still in the process of finalizing details for its new senior housing facility and Richmond Loop lots.

In a partnership with the Lakes District Senior Citizen Housing Association (LDSCHA), the Village addressed the need for senior and elder housing in late 2023 by gifting a parcel of land to the LDSCHA for the development of a new facility.

The Village has discussed the new facility in a closed meeting under the province's Community Charter, which states that, "a part of a council meeting may be closed to the public if the subject matter being considered relates to or is one or more of the following: the acquisition, disposition or expropriation of land or improvements, if the council considers that disclosure could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality."

Chief administrative officer Sheryl Worthing said that she can comment on the matter once details of the meeting have been released, and the Village should be in a position to release that information in February.

The Village is also set to release details of the three lots they purchased on Richmond Loop, adjacent to the Hwy 16 intersection. The $1.5 million intersection upgrade project started in 2023 and aimed to enhance access to the new commercial properties in the area.

The Village had negotiated the purchase of the lots after grant funding was approved.

Worthing said the Village is still working on the purchase agreements for the lots and will release details as soon as the agreement is complete.
