The Village of ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake’s payroll dropped slightly from 2016 to 2017, indicates detailed financial information posted to the village’s website each June.
In 2016 the payroll amounted to $1,476,923.22, which was $64,161.33 more than the 2017 total of $1,412,761.80.
Still, the number of employees earning $75,000 or more in 2017 increased by one to five compared to 2016.
That brought the salary total of employees earning $75,000 or more to $441,227.65 in 2017 compared to $358,932.66 in 2016.
Remuneration figures include any vacation payouts or banked time payouts.
With four employees earning more than $75,000 in 2016 and 44 earning less than $75,000 that year, the total employee total came to 48. An equivalent employee figure was not provided for 2017.
Remuneration for council members rose from a total $45,860.68 in 2016 to $52,609.34 in 2017, partially because of the decision in 2016 by then-mayor Luke Strimbold to step down.
One-third of the remuneration for mayor and council is meant as a non-taxable allowance to cover expenses occurred while carrying out council duties.
As well, in 2016 $20,983.05 was paid for actual reimbursed expenses paid to council members and to others on behalf of the mayor and other council members. That figure dropped slightly to $18,020.37 in 2017.
