Exchange student Leonardo Miotte of Brazil helped out the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake Rotary Club with their annual auction last week - Rotary’s biggest fundraising event of the year. Over the course of the two-day event, over $33,000 was raised. The event brings hundreds of community members together – either by donating items, volunteering or placing bids. All the money goes back into the community. Past projects include the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake Cemetery revitalization and the Rod Reid Trail upgrades.

ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake’s original water tower was demolished on Nov. 15 as part of the water tower replacement project. The two new towers – each with a capacity of 1.5 million litres – were installed earlier this year. The purpose of having two towers instead of one is to have a larger holding capacity for operating, fighting fires and emergency storage. It will also allow the village to temporarily take one tower out of service for maintenance or cleaning inside the tank.
