Teo Saefkow plays as Scalawag at Old and Bold Espresso Bar

Teo Saefkow is a Smithers-based actor, musician and writer who is releasing his first album as Scalawag. He will perform at Old and Bold Espresso Bar on Third Avenue at 8 p.m. on March 20. Admission is $20, and expect the great treats and beverages of Old and Bold (The Bakerei).

The Met: Live in HD and The Beacon present La fanciulla del West

The next performance in this year鈥檚 series of Met: Live in HD opera broadcasts will feature Puccini鈥檚 La fanciulla del West on March 24 at 1 p.m. sharp at The Beacon Theatre in 亚洲天堂 Lake. Soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek sings Puccini鈥檚 gun-slinging heroine Minnie, in this romantic epic of the Wild West. Based on an American play 鈥淭he Girl of the Golden West鈥�, by the playwright who also wrote 鈥淢adame Butterfly鈥�, this is Puccini鈥檚 operatic take on the gold rush era in the US. The production marks the heralded return to the Met of tenor Jonas Kaufmann in the role of outlaw Dick Johnson, whom Minnie loves. Baritone 沤eljko Lu膷i膰 is the vigilante sheriff Jack Rance. Marco Armiliato conducts the fabulous Met orchestra. Saddle up! Tickets are $12 each, and are available at the door, starting at 12:30 p.m.
