I'm writing in response to an article that appeared in the Lakes District ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà edition of Nov. 16, 2011, regarding a visit by Patrick Moore, ex-Greenpeace.

I'm sorry to have missed the meeting because my wife and I are against the Enbridge Northern Gateway Pipeline project.

ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake has had two visits from a hired Enbridge person and all we have received are vague maybes but nothing definite.

Only what Enbridge can do, but never what they will do.

At the very first meeting Enbridge held in ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake at the College of New Caledonia, I asked them why the pipeline is to be put through a residential area.

I was told it was the most direct and cheapest route to the coast.

Needless to say I was quite upset when I read that Patrick Moore says that the pipeline wouldn't be right through main street, but would stay in the hinterland.

This proved to me that the man is just another hired gun and has no idea what he's talking about.

This so called hinterland happens to be very well populated with families and is only three minutes from downtown ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake.

I hope that Patrick Moore reads this letter  and by personal invitation, I would like to give him a tour of this so called 'hinterland'.

I feel that Patrick Moore has insulted the residents of ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake by saying that the pipeline won't be coming down main street.

Patrick Moore ... we all know that the pipeline won’t come down main street,  but the community consists of more than just main street .... just incase he doesn't know this.
