The new shelter at Kager Lake’s parking lot was completed just in time for the 2016 Big Pig Mountain Biking Festival.

According to the ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake Mountain Biking Association, the shelter helped make the event run smoother than ever. The shelter will not only provide a place for people to warm up, boil water or hide during bad weather, but it will also be used to set up registration tables for bike camps and other events. The shelter was built entirely by volunteers.

ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake resident Anna Geddert recently hiked around Kager Lake in a wheelchair with the assistance of her boyfriend Chris Backhouse. Geddert said she was enjoying being outdoors and that hiking in a wheelchair at Kager wasn’t too difficult.

The ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake Mountain Biking Association has been trying to make the Kager Lake trail more accessible for those who are mobility challenged.
