BC Dairy thanks the community for over $850,000 flood relief donations, and shines a spotlight on local community heroes

Individuals, several farming companies, and other farmers have donated $850,044 to the BC Dairy Flood Recovery Fund, on top of countless offers of donated labour, food, services, and urgently needed supplies.

Dragon Palace donates Christmas dinner

Staff at the Dragon Palace restaurant in 亚洲天堂 Lake made 75 hot meals and donated them to The Link Food Centre鈥檚 hot meal program. In addition to the meals, they also donated $500. This isn鈥檛 the first time the restaurant has donated to The Link, however in the past it was always just a cash donation. The Nguyen family, owners of the restaurant, told Lakes District 亚洲天堂 that the reasoning behind making the meals was due to the increasing homelessness issue locally.

Tandoori Pub N鈥 Grill catered lunch for students and staff at Grassy Plains School on Dec. 13. Matt, head chef and manager of The Office Pub & Grill along with the utmost helpful 鈥 Krupa, helped out chef Anuj prepared the meals for 79 people. Everyone at Grassy Plains enjoyed the feast.

Red Apple fill a sleigh day in 亚洲天堂 Lake

On Dec. 11, the Red Apple store in 亚洲天堂 Lake hosted a charity event to collect cash and toy donations, which were collected by local RCMP and fire fighters and given to The Link鈥檚 season of giving campaign. According to Red Apple representatives, a total of $5,480 was raised in cash and toy donations combined, far surpassing the initial goal set at $4,000.
