The Halloween and fall themed crafts event was for Provincial Pro-Day when students don鈥檛 attend classes at school, also known as Non-Instructional (NI) days. Grant might help renovate old church

The Village of 亚洲天堂 Lake plans to apply to the Northern Development Initiative Trust for a grant of up to $30,000 towards the Anglican Church Redevelopment Project. The issue of renovating St. John鈥檚 Anglican Church has generated much discussion and planning in 亚洲天堂 Lake since the old church was given heritage designation in 2005. Reading to a Dog program

The 亚洲天堂 Lake Public Library started hosting the Reading to a Dog program on Oct. 24, in collaboration with the Lakes Animal Friendship Society (LAFS). Children read out loud to Clive, a registered therapy dog and they can practice their reading and oral skills with a non-judgmental listener, which makes them feel more comfortable. Clive鈥檚 owner is Julie Harrison of LAFS. The program consists of four 15-minute sessions every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
