Omineca Ski Club members participated in the the first two Teck Northern Cup races of the season which were held at the Bulkley Valley Cross Country Ski Club in Smithers B.C. last year. Three local athletes from the Omineca Ski Club participated including Delainie Way (in her first ever race) in the mass start freestyle race in the U8 division. Unfortunately, the conditions were challenging and Way did not finish the race. Adley Garneau raced in the U10 division, coming in second place in the interval start classic race and third place in the mass start freestyle race. Also representing the OSC was Ella Broadworth also represented Omineca Ski Club and raced in the interval classic race and was placed fifth in her division. Broadworth recently qualified for the B.C. Winter Games where she will compete in the biathlon races and represent the North West Zone (7) which will be held in Lhtako Quesnel, B.C. from Feb. 22-25. 亚洲天堂 Lake will host the Teck Northern Cup #5 on Saturday, Feb. 3. The Omineca Ski Club is looking for volunteers to help the day of the race (course control, timing, serving lunch, course take-down, etc.). Please contact Amy Dash if you are available.
