The 亚洲天堂 Lake Volunteer Fire Department popped by William Konkin Elementary School on May 2. The firefighters that gave the presentation included fire chief Rob Krause, Jason Blackwell and Rose Seminuk. The department brought the big fire truck and did a presentation to the students how the lights, sirens and water hoses worked. There were also 25 Strong Start children present for this event. Each child received a fire fighter hat and colouring set from the fire department. It was a great time.

Watching a parade is like being transported into a world of colour, music, and excitement. It鈥檚 like seeing a story unfold right before your eyes, with each float and marching band adding a new chapter. It鈥檚 a sensory overload, with the sounds of the marching bands and children squealing with delight as candy is being thrown, the sights of the colourful floats all coming together to create a magical experience.

The 亚洲天堂 Lake Volunteer Fire Department conducted a mock rescue at a building slated for demolition in Decker Lake. Firefighters practiced extricating a downed colleague from a smoke-filled building. Fire Chief Rob Krause said, 鈥淥ur visits were part of the fire department鈥檚 fire prevention efforts. We did two sessions with children from pre-school to Grade 3 We speak to them about fire safety and explain how the truck works and what it does.

Northwest Fire Centre issues ban on Category 2 & 3 burning

The 鈥淢ove to Cure ALS鈥� walks happen across BC in June and although 亚洲天堂 Lake isn鈥檛 an official site, 亚洲天堂 Lake resident Ronda Payne is holding a fundraiser for the cause to show her support for her friend, Barb Wilson. For the third year in a row Payne will be raffling off a beautiful quilt named 鈥淲hen you Wish Upon a Star鈥� made by the talented and generous Jenny Pirie.

Members of the Bulkley Valley Bruisers were in 亚洲天堂 Lake on May 10 to introduce residents to the sport of roller derby. More than a dozen local women came to the Tom Forsyth Arena and learned basic skills like stopping, falling, and turning. The Bulkley Valley Roller Derby is a non-profit association made up of local skaters, coaches, referees and non-skating officials, coming from between Houston and Hazelton.

The 亚洲天堂 Lake Chamber of Commerce organized the 2023 亚洲天堂 Lake Centennial Trade Show. The trade show was on a hiatus since Covid and the last trade show 亚洲天堂 Lake saw was in 2019. 鈥淭his trade show was bigger and better then our last show,鈥� said Randi Amendt, chamber manager. 鈥淚t was a great event and there were a ton of attendees, we look forward to our next one in 2025.
