Kids learn how to fish in ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake

The Freshwater Fisheries Society of B.C. delivered a free program to introduce kids and to fishing at Kager Lake last Friday. During the two-hour session, kids had fun while learning the basics of freshwater fishing including hatchery roles, fish identification, tackle, rod rigging, casting and hands-on fishing.

It’s safe to say that ÑÇÖÞÌìÌà Lake did not disappoint with its celebration of Canada Day. The touching event started with a pancake breakfast at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 50, followed by an opening ceremony with guest speakers and the Lakes District Community Choir at Spirit Square. The event also included a ‘best pie contest’ and a kayak race.
