Dozens of people attended the Lake Babine Nation (LBN)鈥檚 eighth annual career fair on March 19 in the 亚洲天堂 Lake Gathering Place. Several local employers including BC Emergency Health Services, the RCMP, Bulkley Valley Credit Union and the Village of 亚洲天堂 Lake set up information booths for attendees. 亚洲天堂 Lake resident Konrad Feldmann poses with his B.C. Parks Volunteer Award, which he and his late wife Gerda won last year for their years of volunteer work that helped maintain Spatsizi Plateau Provincial Park. Since 2001 the pair headed north to the park in the Stikine region where, for four weeks at a time they registered guests, built furniture and infrastructure such as signs, cabins and stairways, and made sure the cookhouses were properly stocked with propane other supplies.

Southside residents Ken and Cathy Rose participated in the Maple Leaf Charolais Bull Sale on Feb. 22, 2019 in Ponoka, Alberta. They have been breeding polled, (hornless) full-French Charolais bulls for 12 years. At the Ponoka event they sold their Southside Muscat 18E bull for $12,500 to a rancher in Texas; and their Muscat 24E for $9,000 to a rancher in Manitoba.
