Grassy Plains School celebrated Indigenous Day on June 16. Cheslatta Carrier Nation Strong Start organized the day with Carrier Sekani Family Services. In 1960, snow removal was a creative task that required ingenuity and resourcefulness. People used a variety of tools and techniques, from shovels and brooms to horse-drawn plows and snow blowers. Some even used hot water to melt the snow on their driveways and sidewalks! It was a challenging but rewarding experience, as the satisfaction of a clear path through the snow was well worth the effort. Sidewalk plow tractor visible.

Commanding officer shares the crime stats so far this year

Board members of the Nechako Kitamaat Development Fund Society and the 亚洲天堂 Lake and District Healthcare Auxiliary, visited the 亚洲天堂 Lake Public Library 颅颅on May 11. The two organizations provided the generous funding needed for the purchase of an automated external defibrillator (AED) that was recently installed at the library.

Friends and supporters gathered at LDSS track on June 10, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and walked few laps in support of the cause. The 鈥淢ove to Cure ALS鈥� walk happens across B.C. in June and although 亚洲天堂 Lake isn鈥檛 an official site, 亚洲天堂 Lake resident Ronda Payne held a walk and a fundraiser for the cause to show her support for her friend, Barb Wilson. For the third year in a row Payne has been raffling off a beautiful quilt - this year鈥檚 quilt is named When you Wish Upon a Star.

Local restaurateur Babbi Singh is set to make a significant impact on the community as he expands his business endeavours into construction and real estate. With plans underway to construct two fourplexes on 435 Fifth Ave in 亚洲天堂 Lake, Singh aims to alleviate the pressing housing shortage faced by the town. These new developments will complement the existing fourplex building already owned by Singh on the same property.
